Why yoga?
Yoga and Ayurveda are both tools to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit so we regain a natural balance between our own innate natural constitution and our surroundings.
Yoga and Ayurveda are closely related, they are both working to bring the 5 elements into balance in us. But the ultimate goal in the end is to bring us into contact with our own divinity and silence.
Ayurveda works with the physical body and can prepare and support us to go deeper into yoga. Ayurveda can help clear out waste and open up the body and mind to go deeper in yoga and meditation.
Yoga and meditation also affect the physical body. AyurYoga stimulates organs, circulation, suppleness and strength both in the body and the mind. Through yoga, you can let go of built-up stress and learn how to use techniques in everyday life to find rest. It is entirely up to you whether you want to settle for one teaching day a week, or go deeper and use the techniques of everyday life.
Yoga opens the mind and its limitations while also training the mind to be present in the present. Usually the mind is concerned with the past or what is going to happen in the future. When we find peace in our thoughts and clear our minds of unnecessary worries, we strengthen intuition and consciousness can be expanded.
Intuition is strengthened and consciousness is expanded. You may find that you are more in harmony with the surroundings and that life flows easier.
Prana life energy is increased. Prana is what flows in everything alive, it is life force. Through yoga we build prana. Prana is the force that e.g. is in fresh fruit, vegetables. A fresh apple has lots of prana, whereas an apple that is in the decay process is in the process of decomposition and the prana is on its way out of the apple.
In yoga, we build prana through the breath (fresh air and oxygen have plenty of prana, whereas a non-aerated room lacks prana.)
Breathing exercises are an important part of yoga to build the body with life force.
When prana is high t we feel full of excess and we are ready to face the world. When prana is low we may be in deficit and feel depressed, depressed, or smoking into mental instability. By increasing prana in the system, we can bring the mind to rest and give way to creativity, intuition, sense of unity and awareness.
In AyurYoga you relax in the senses so that they rest and you can go completely into yourself and experience an inner space where there is space to rest and regenerate.
Ahimsa-not violent behavior it is supposed that yoga should be nice to do and give you peace. We strive to learn to listen to ourselves and find our limits but at the same time be prepared to let go when the opportunity arises. You may also feel challenged.
You will see progress time and time again. Sometimes it is a mental barrier that has to be overcome in order to move forward, other times you simply have to have love and patience for yourself and there is a breakthrough
-accept and love for where you are.
Yoga consists of:
- asanas (physical positions)
- pranayama (breathing exercises)
- samanu (mental concentration at energy centers)
- yoga anidra (relaxation)
- meditation
- Mantra (Sanskrit (Old Indian) verse)
- Chanting (we start the hour and end the hour with Sanskrit song)
Yoga is a way to empower your body to carry your soul and let it shine through to everyone you meet and bring shanti (peace) into your life.
